Two years ago, I shot an independent movie in the wilds of New Jersey, and it finally came out this fall. As you might guess from the photo above, it’s a horror film! “All You Need Is Blood” is currently streaming on Amazon and Apple TV, and in spite of the genre and the scary photos, it’s actually a very sweet film. Written and directed by Cooper Roberts, AYNIB shares the plight of Bucky LeBoeuf, played with earnest commitment by Logan Riley Bruner, a teen whose greatest dream in life is to become a film director. When an asteroid from outer space turns his father into a zombie, he decides to turn lemons into lemonade and making a horror film. Hijinx ensue.
I had the pleasure of seeing the film at a screening in New Brunswick during the NJ Film Festival and was genuinely touched by the story. At heart, the film is a coming of age story with a tremendous amount of blood. I play Bucky’s best friend’s mother, Mrs. Gudi, who just wants her son to go to a wedding with her. Instead, she turns into a zombie (and ostensibly misses the wedding.) One reviewer seemed particularly taken with my character! It was a blast to shoot this film in a very creepy farmhouse outside Atlantic City, and I hope it will provide some thrills and chills for years to come!
