After a long 16 months, I am so grateful to be returning to the stage in the World Premier of “Persuasion” with Bedlam at the Connelly Theater Off-Broadway. Even in the best of times, I would be happy to be working in New York on material that I adore, but after the theatrical hibernation of the pandemic, it feels nothing short of miraculous to be rehearsing with other people again. This adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel was written by Sarah Rose Kearns and directed by Eric Tucker. The show will run from September 11th till October 31st. More information and tickets can be found here.
In addition to acting in a costume drama, I’m excited to be playing multiple roles in this production including my first time gender bending! I will portray the vapid Elizabeth Elliot, Anne’s elder sister; the agreeable Mrs. Croft, one half of the happiest couple in Jane Austen; and the deeply feeling Captain Benwick, one of Anne’s potential suitors. Rehearsals are off to a great start, and I truly look forward to performing on stage again!
